From 1994 to 2006: Life goes on...
"Do not lose the joy of living in the fear of dying."
(Maggie Keswick Jencks, Founder of the Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre)
My mother, who was a very wise lady, taught me to enjoy the simple and small pleasures in life, and to realise what really matters. She also taught me to learn to appreciate Nature and its bounty, and to respect myself. It may have taken me a while to understand her teachings, but now, I have fully integrated these principles into my life. They help me to keep my spirits up most of the time, and I believe, to remain healthy. From my father, I learned to think about things rationally and logically, to seek answers, and to persevere. This helped me to keep a cool head in times of crisis, to stay in charge of my disease and treatment, and to remain resilient. Here are a few photos of me throughout my breast cancer journey... |
